In class today we learnt about a quote in the movie coach cater. My understanding of the quote is that people are often more afraid of their own potential and capability than their perceived weakness. 

My understanding of great communication is being able to let people know where you are at all times, and by letting people know where you are. What parts of communication that I am good at, I am good at communicating to my teammates on the field to let them know when and where I am so that they know where I am and I know where they are.

Last week at school I learnt how to braces up walls in my cabin. I learnt by braising my walls it makes it strong and you don’t need anyone to hold it in place because you can just connect up a long beam of wood to keep it in place. How you braces a wall is first you make sure that all walls are level on both sides, then when level shoot the nail through the braces to join the braces and wall together.

Things I need to work on is my communication to others and letting people know where I am like my teacher and my parents. I also need to be able to sit down and talk to my parents and just feel comfortable to talk to them about anything. How I am going to try and achieve my work on’s is to take responsibility of myself and my actions and think before I do stuff. if you don’t take responsibility for the bad actions, you don’t deserve to take responsibility for the good stuff.

Kia ora my name Shakeal, What I learnt last week was how to cut a 45 degree angle on a drop saw. What I needed to use the wood for was for a changing room wall.

Kia ora tatou this week I have been cutting and painting blocks for our uniform room to sit on, first step that we did was use the laser level to mark out and find out the highest and lowest part of the ground because we are working on a uneven ground. second was to get all the different measurements to mark out our blocks that we where going to cut and paint, third was to finished cutting the blocks to right highet then painint the cut ends so that the wood doesn’t roat.

Kia ora Ko Shakeal Toka Tu Moana He Manawa Pickering ahau. I am a very talented athlete, I was born in Hamilton and I am a year 12 at Bay of island college.When I was in year 11 I was unsure of what classes I wanted to be taking until I heard of the Building academy. When I applied for this spot in the building I was excited because I was looking forward to being able to build lots of projects around our school. One of the reasons why I joined the building academy was so that I can have and learn more skills to help me in future when I want to build my own house on my land and have multiple opportunities in a working environment. By being in building academy I have recently built a retaining wall over by our (esm shed). I have also built multiple decks around the school and have been in a building work site.
